7 Weeks......

But who's counting??

I'll tell you - its ...........ME - ME - ME - ME!!!

I can't believe that in under 7 weeks time I will be sitting in my holiday apartment in the Upper East Side of New York City!!.

So we have booked the SATC tour, a walking foodies tour of Chelsea and the Meat Packing area, two days trips, one to Washington and another to Philadelphia along with a heap of other things!

We are going to complete the WTC site and museum on Christmas Eve and then head to a nice quiet place for dinner and reflection.

Christmas Day is looking to be a wonderful day - I booked us into the Rock Centre Cafe in the Rockefeller Centre - looking over the famous ice skating rink and christmas tree!! This should be a wonderful experience.

I just need to be patient and enjoy the warmer Aussie weather before heading over to the cold!!

My baby sister got married....

To her lovely Prince Charming.

So the real life Lisa Simpson married Dane Donaldson in early October and we have now just got our hot little hands on her amazing photos.

I did a post late last year on the amazing photo journalistic work by Jeremy Beasley and Lisa and Dane were lucky enough to secure him to take their wedding photos.

They have been given just over 500 of them and they really do capture the magic of their special day - his website will give you a real insight to her day and to the way that he takes his amazing images!!

Enjoy these couple - PS - Im the one in the green!!

Why the dream country lifestyle sometimes sucks

So on Friday I was told that our local general store is closing - I was devastated for the owners but also for myself (as a fellow business owner) and the 808 residents of this fine Snowy Mountains town.

So Husband and I thought that we might take on the Lotto  - our little town has a high percentage of elderly people who love to have their weekly flutter and to also go down and see Julie in the general store - this seemed to us like a vital service to keep going.

So we rang and spoke to NSW Lotteries and they told us "due to your business NOT being a primary newsagency the answer is NO" - like that - no consideration of any factors - the fact that we already own the local post office counted for nothing and therefore another important service for our town is going - and added "no business in your town will be able to take this on unless you buy the general store" :(

The NSW State Government needs to stop this ludicrious rule and help little towns survive - this could well be the start of other businesses closing - most of us are doing it a little tough and we all try to support each other equally BUT when the government has other ideas you really have to wonder where we will all end up.

I wish my lovely friends a lovely retirement  and enjoy the sunshine xo a part of me is very very jealous!!

Tuk Tuk, Ping Pong and Phuket

Ahhhhh - Husband and I have just returned from a weeks holiday in Phuket.

Can you believe this is the first holiday that we have had together in over 4 years!!! Not since our honeymoon!!!

So we decided to head over the Phuket when contacted by Husbands brother who was also going over with his family with the plan to propose and MARRY his lovely partner.

Well that all went off beautifully - she had no idea and if was just so lovely to have played a part in the day.

Overall - our holiday was super relaxing and I am dreaming of going back again.

We visited so many amazing places in our 7 days and even got to see a Pin Pong show!! Yes - imagine Prisicilla Queen of the Desert but in real life!! Not for children or the faint hearted!!

So here are a few pics......
